Senior Project Reflection

(1)  What are you most proud of in your 2-Hour Presentation and/or your senior project? Why?
- I am most proud of my first activity. I felt that I was able to incorporate my two answers into one activity, and that most people enjoyed it as well.

(2)  What assessment would you give yourself on your 2-Hour Presentation (self-assessment)? Why?
- I would give myself a P+ on my 2-Hour presentation. I felt that I completed all the necessary requirements and able to really back up my answers with evidence.

b.     What assessment would you give yourself on your overall senior project (self-assessment)? Why?
I would give myself an overall assessment of a P. I completed all the required items, and to not only strive to do good, but to also understand my topic and hopefully put the information I learned into use in my future.

(3) What worked for you in your senior project?
I believe my research worked for me. I found so much information on my topoic, that it was really helpful in conducting my 2-hour as well as other components.

(4) What didn’t work for you in your senior project?
I believe the independent components weren't as useful to me as I hoped. It didnt quite help me understand my topic or help with it as much.

(5) How has the senior project been helpful to you in your future endeavors?   Be specific and use examples.
I will definietly use all the information acquired as my background when I enter the beauty industry. I would like to create my own beauty product and own my company as well, and doing this senior project, I got see first hand how much research it takes and the process I will need to go through to do so. I feel that I will be prepared and the knowledge of doing so will come to me easily because of how I know this information so well.

    Room Creativity

    1) I plan on covering all the tables used by students with a light blue table cloth. I also want to try to include little facts about marketing on the tables, but not as a huge distraction to the students, so that they are able to focus on the presentation. I am not sure what else to do, because the room is very large and I would not be able to decorate the entire class room in time.

    2) I plan on creating a walk through of three of the same situations, one on each side of the class(so that it is accessible for all) and have them observe the situation and explain what is wrong about them. This could be for either my first or second answer.

    Presentation Reflection

    1)   In what way did the first interview affect your presentation?  Please explain, be specific and use an example.

When I interviewed Timothy Her, and asked him "What can you tell me about Marketing Skin Care Products?" I never thought he would surprise me by his answer. His first answer was results. All the research I have been reading so far have all mentioned results being one of the most important in being able to successfully market the product. When I first planned out my presentation, I was going to compare the difference between natural/organic products, and those that aren't. When I looked back to my first interview, I remembered Mr. Her saying that results are the most important. So why not present on ingredients that can be used in products and to be aware of what kinds of ingredients go into the product.

    2.  What you say stood out about your presentation performance and why?

During my presentation, I mentioned some examples of ingredients used in products and the good and bad that can come out of some. When I mentioned these to the class, I had little trouble presenting this information. I knew this information almost by heart, so presenting this information would be less difficult.

     3.  What was the most challenging to do and why?

The most challenging to do was presenting in front of an audience. I don't have trouble speaking to people, but when all eyes fall on me, it's a whole new story. I always panic when I present and feel that if I do something wrong, the audience will say something. But I know this isn't true. They are all presenting for the same reason, and we all make mistakes.

    Senior Project Presentation 1

*The objective of my five minute presentation is to inform students about the difference between skin care products that are truly natural and/or organic and those who claim to be.

    1. I will begin by asking, "How many of you, by a show of hands, believe that they are using natural and/or organic skin care products?" Most girls, and some guys as well do use some sort of skin care product om their face, whether its a moisturizer or sunscreen.

    2. I will then pick on a few student and ask if they know if the products they are using are really natural or organic, and how they know they are.

    3. After a few answers, I will begin a brief explanation of what natural and organic is, and one way to know if they are, which is researching the company and understanding the ingredients used in them.

    4. After explaining, I will show my visual. My visual will be of two skin care products (one product that claims to be natural/organic, and one who really is) and I will explain some ingredients and the information on the packaging itself.

    5. I will then conclude by asking one or two students what they gathered from the presentation.
